DPWH eyes reopening of Kamuning flyover southbound in Aug

MANILA: The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) is looking to reopen the southbound portion of the Kamuning flyover in Quezon City in late August. DPWH-NCR director Loretta Malaluan, in a message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Friday, said this is possible if good weather would persist in the coming weeks. 'Unless we are hampered by the weather condition, we will focus on the under slab of the flyover,' the DPWH official added. The repair works are ahead of schedule, she noted. 'Yes, we are ahead of schedule because the original target date po ng opening natin dapat is October pa (of the opening of the flyover is in October),' she added. After the completion of the Kamuning flyover rehabilitation, they will proceed with the rehabilitation works on the Magallanes flyover southbound in Makati City. The works on the Kamuning flyover in Quezon City started on April 25 and are part of the government's efforts to rehabilitate structures in preparation for earthqu akes. Meanwhile, the DPWH Quezon City District Engineering Office (DEO) will conduct road repair, and reblocking activities from Friday night until Monday (July 15). In a social media post, the DEO said the works will be conducted in EDSA southbound (SB), Sgt. Rivera, A. Bonifacio Avenue, Quirino Highway, Tandang Sora, Sto. Domingo Avenue, Congressional Avenue Extension, North Avenue northbound (NB), and Mindanao Avenue (SB). Motorists are advised of traffic slowdowns in affected areas, and to take other lanes to avoid inconvenience.
