MANILA: Motorists and consumers are in for higher oil prices starting Sept. 3. In separate advisories, Cleanfuel, Caltex, Jetti, Petro Gazz, Seaoil, and Shell said they will increase prices of gasoline by PHP0.50 per liter and PHP0.30 per liter for kerosene. Caltex, Seaoil, and Shell will also adjust upward kerosene prices by PHP0.70 per liter. Other industry players are expected to follow suit. Last week, oil companies implemented big-time price rollbacks. 'Year-to-date, total adjustment of gasoline and diesel stands at a net increase of PHP6.90 per liter and PHP4.05 per liter, respectively. However, kerosene has a total net decrease of PHP4 per liter,' the Department of Energy (DOE) said. DOE data showed that current prices of gasoline range from PHP51.80 to PHP85.37 per liter, diesel from PHP48 to PHP71.40 per liter, and kerosene from PHP68.64 to PHP83.70 per liter.
