The police then tracked down the fake butter bear criminal who would infiltrate the ROV game and then choose victims. When he found his target, he would chat privately in the game and ask to add him as a friend on Line, using the profile name Butterbear, the famous mascot. He would then trick the young female victims into taking nude photos and videos, making obscene gestures, and sending them via Line. He continued until he got the desired images and clips. When the girl started to refuse to do so, she was threa tened that if she did not do so, the pictures and clips would be released. This caused the girl to become stressed and anxious until her parents noticed the change in her behavior. They asked her about it and found out the truth. They took her to file a complaint, which led to the arrest warrant for the perpetrator. Police searched a house in Ban Chang District, Rayong Province, arresting Mr. Surapong, aged 51, who falsely used the profile of Bear Butter to trick young girls, along with evidence of a mobile phone containing obscene images of young women. From questioning, the suspect confessed that he had been doing it for many years. There were approximately 5 victims who were children under the age of 18. One of the victims was threatened for 5 years until she was 18. The police believe that there are many more victims and are currently investigating to expand the investigation. Pol. Col. Runglert Khanchan, Director of the Anti-Child Sexual Abuse on the Internet Division, Technology Crime Suppression Div ision, revealed that the suspect claimed that the clip was kept for himself to watch, but he did not believe it yet. He is currently investigating to find out if the suspect has a group that uses it to forward or sell the pornographic clips, including the financial trail. The reason the suspect used the profile picture and LINE account name, Nong Mi Nai, was because he saw that Nong Mi Nai was trending and easily accessible to children and teenagers. If he talked to her, the children would trust her and easily fall victim. Previously, the suspect used the same behavior as other victims, but used profile pictures and account names of cartoons or dolls that easily fooled children. However, it was not found that the suspect talked to the victim in a way that assumed he was Nong Mi Noi, using the method of deceiving or inviting conversation about games to make the victim believe and fall victim. During the press conference, the real agency of Bear Butter was asked to come and appear and join the press conferen ce, but was informed that his schedule was not available, so he could not join the press conference. In addition, the copyright owner company was contacted to file a complaint in case it caused damage to the company's brand. For the butter bear, it is a mascot doll from a dessert shop called Butterbear located at Emsphere shopping mall, which is a dessert brand under 'Coffee beans by Dao'. The founder of Butterbear is 'Boom AB Queen', a former famous singer from Kamikaze, who is the heir of Coffee beans by Dao. Source: Thai News Agency
